U.S : The white supremacy pick for Attorney General

Dear friend,

Trump has just doubled-down on his plan to stack his cabinet with The New Klan – hell bent on governing through white supremacy and destroying our hard fought for rights.

Trump has picked a would-be Attorney General with an extensive track record of hate. Jeff Sessions has called a Black federal prosecutor “boy,”1 falsely prosecuted Black political activists,2 and made offhand jokes about his support of the Ku Klux Klan.3 The burnings, lynchings and terror of the KKK are not a joke. We cannot let our halls of justice be cloaked with white supremacy.
We must do everything possible to stop Sessions from becoming America’s “top cop.” Jeff Sessions has such a disturbingly racist record that a Republican-controlled Senate Judiciary Committee once rejected Sessions for a federal judgeship nearly thirty years ago.
Sessions has been unapologetic and brazen in his white supremacy and has strongly opposed and insulted the civil rights leaders and groups that have fought for the freedom of Black folks. Through our Fighters Fund we will have the resource to mobilize people across the country to work to block Sessions from ever taking office. Together, we can force the Senate to block Sessions from becoming Attorney General.

Until justice is real,

Brandi, Rashad, Arisha, Anika, Evan, Bernard, Jade, Corina and the rest of the Color Of Change team.
